Effect of emulsifier on physical properties of cup lump modified emulsified bitumen residues

Abstract The improvement of physical properties emulsified bitumen residues is the prime concern for researchers to improve performance cold mix asphalt and different types polymers are incorporated in this purpose. However, emulsion usually prepared with help emulsifier function emulsions reduce interfacial tension on surfaces water droplets which results a stable suspension system sufficient period time. Despite using it as an emulsifying agent, impact rheological emulsion’s never studied before. In study, pen 80/100, 60/70 Cup lump rubber (CLR) modified were at 0.5%, 1% 6.5% (Redicote-EM44) content respectively. Physical tests such penetration, softening point viscosity carried out investigate effect emulsifier. indicate that enhances residues. resistance penetration was improved up 20% 16% 80/100 respectively while had adverse value CLR residue resulting decreased 19%. not remarkable but has SPV whereas values residue. better agreement results.
